To play well and win real cash prizes, you must be aware of all the important Indian rummy rules. Here are the important concepts and rules of the game:

What is a sequence? What is a set? What is a joker?
A sequence is a group of 3 or more consecutive cards of the same suit arranged in sequence. A sequence can be a pure sequence or an impure sequence. A set is a group of three or more cards of the same rank but different suits. A valid declaration in rummy often includes one or more sets, along with at least 2 sequences, though creating sets is optional.
There are two types of sets in rummy game.
A joker is a versatile card that can be used as a substitute for any other card in a set or sequence. Jokers play an important role in the game as they help players complete sequences and sets and increase their prospects of winning the game. There are two types of jokers in rummy: printed jokers and wild jokers.
Pure Sequence: A pure sequence is a sequence in which no card has been replaced by a joker. It consists of consecutive cards of the same suit, and it is essential to have at least one pure sequence to declare and win the game.
Example: 5-6-7 (Three consecutive cards of Hearts without any joker)
Valid Sets: A valid set in rummy consists of three or more cards of the same rank from different suits.
Example: 7-7♣-7♠ (Three cards of the same rank, but different suits)
Printed Jokers: Each deck of cards used in online rummy has a printed joker. Printed Jokers can be used to replace any cards, irrespective of the suit or rank. Example: 5-5♣-5♠-PJ (printed joker has replaced 5)
Impure Sequence: An impure sequence is a sequence in which one or more cards have been replaced by a joker(s).
Example:Pure Sequence: 8♣-9♣-10♣ (Three consecutive cards of Clubs without any joker)
Impure Sequence: 7-8-WJ (Wild joker has replaced 9.)
Invalid Sets: An invalid set in rummy is a combination of cards that does not meet the criteria of a valid set. It may include cards of different ranks or fewer than three or four cards. Let's look at some examples of invalid sets:
Example 1: A♠ Q♥ 2♦In this set, the cards have different ranks (A, Q, 2) and do not meet the requirements for a valid set. Example 2:9♣ 9♠ 9♠ 9♦This set consists of 4 cards of "9," but to form a valid set, there cannot be two same suits in a valid set.
Wild Joker: In addition to the printed jokers, Indian online rummy also has a randomly selected wild joker in each game. All the cards of the rank that gets selected as a wild joker in a game also become wild jokers in that game.
Example:In a game where 2 gets selected as a wild joker, 2, 2♣, and 2♠ also become wild jokers.

Indian Rummy Points System

In Indian rummy, points have a negative value. A player’s objective is to score zero points. To make a valid declaration, your points must be zero. The cards from 2 to 10 have a value equal to the numbers printed on them. For example, the 5 of each suit is worth 5 points. The A, K, Q, and J of each suit is worth 10 points. Printed jokers and wild card jokers are worth zero points each.

When you group cards in valid rummy sequences or rummy sets, their value becomes zero. For example, 8 and 9 together are worth 8+9 = 17 points, but when you put 10 with them, it becomes a sequence (8-9-10) and the sequence is worth zero points. Every valid sequence or set is worth zero points.

In Indian rummy online cash games, every point has a predetermined value in rupees, and the winnings are calculated based on the monetary value of points.
