1. Points Rummy
Points rummy is the fastest format of Indian rummy as a points rummy game is played for only one round or deal. Each player is dealt 13 cards at the beginning of the game, and the player who makes a valid declaration first, with zero points, is the winner. Losing players’ scores are calculated based on their unmelded cards or cards that are not part of any valid sequence or set. A player can lose by a maximum of 80 points irrespective of the value of their cards.
2. Deals Rummy
Deals rummy is similar to points rummy, but a deals rummy game is played for a predetermined number of deals. All the players get an equal number of chips at the beginning of the game, and the winner of a deal gets chips from the losing players based on their scores. The player who has the highest number of chips at the end of the final deal is the winner.
3. Pool Rummy
Pool rummy is similar to deals rummy, but there is no predetermined number of deals in a pool rummy game. There are two types of pool rummy games: 101 pool and 201 pool. In 101 pool rummy, the game is played in rounds, and players whose score reaches 101 points get eliminated from the game. The player who is left alone at the table in the end is the winner. 201 pool rummy is just like 101 pool rummy, except that the players get eliminated when their score reaches 201 points.

Rummy Game Rules
Like every competitive game, rummy also has a set of rules that every player has to follow when playing at the rummy table. Here are the basic rummy rules:
- The number of players in a rummy game is 2 to 6.
- 1 or 2 standard decks of 52 cards each plus 1 joker per deck are used to play rummy.
- Every player is dealt 13 cards at the beginning of the game and the remaining cards are put face down on the table to form the closed deck.
- A random card is selected as the wild joker and all the cards of that value become wild jokers for that game. Just like the printed joker, wild jokers can also be used in place of a missing card in a rummy sequence or set.
- The top card from the closed deck can be picked up by players on their turn. Players can also pick the top card from the open deck, also called the discard pile.
- Every time a player picks up a card (from the closed deck or the open deck), they have to discard one of their cards to the open deck.
Note: To make a valid declaration, you must have at least two sequences, out of which at least one must be a pure sequence, and all other cards in your hand must be arranged in sequences or sets.
