1. Points Rummy
Points rummy is the fastest format of Indian rummy as a points rummy game is played for only one round or deal. Each player is dealt 13 cards at the beginning of the game, and the player who makes a valid declaration first, with zero points, is the winner. Losing players’ scores are calculated based on their unmelded cards or cards that are not part of any valid sequence or set. A player can lose by a maximum of 80 points irrespective of the value of their cards.
2. Deals Rummy
Deals rummy is similar to points rummy, but a deals rummy game is played for a predetermined number of deals. All the players get an equal number of chips at the beginning of the game, and the winner of a deal gets chips from the losing players based on their scores. The player who has the highest number of chips at the end of the final deal is the winner.
3. Pool Rummy
Pool rummy is similar to deals rummy, but there is no predetermined number of deals in a pool rummy game. There are two types of pool rummy games: 101 pool and 201 pool. In 101 pool rummy, the game is played in rounds, and players whose score reaches 101 points get eliminated from the game. The player who is left alone at the table in the end is the winner. 201 pool rummy is just like 101 pool rummy, except that the players get eliminated when their score reaches 201 points.

Rummy Game Rules
Like every competitive game, rummy also has a set of rules that every player has to follow when playing at the rummy table. Here are the basic rummy rules:
- Number of players: 2–6 players
- Cards: Each player is dealt 13 cards
- Objective: Arrange your cards into sequences or sets
- Turns: On each turn, a player draws a card from the closed or open deck and discards a card to the open deck
- Winning Hand: To win, you need at least two sequences. One must be a "pure sequence" - consecutive cards in the same suit, no jokers allowed
- Pure sequence: A sequence of three or more cards of the same suit in order, without jokers
- Set: A group of three or more cards of the same value but different suits
- Jokers: A random card is the wild joker and can be used as a substitute for any card to form combinations
- Scoring: Face cards are worth 10 points, aces are worth 1 point, and other cards are worth their rank
- Going Rummy: A player earns double points if they get rid of all their cards in one turn without melding or laying off any cards
Note: To make a valid declaration, you must have at least two sequences, out of which at least one must be a pure sequence, and all other cards in your hand must be arranged in sequences or sets.
